Developer Discussions
From DungeonHack
"Dev Chats" are held weekly to make decisions and keep our Lead Developers up-to-date on what each other is doing. We discuss development goals and issues facing the project among key members of the team and interested contributors.
Chats are held on Sundays at 1900 (7 pm) GMT at irc.freenode.net #dhackers unless stated otherwise.
All of the Lead Developers are required to attend dev chats to play their role in decision making for the project. Regular members are encouraged to attend but are not at all required to.
IRC
Joining an IRC chat requires a type of program known as an "IRC client" or else a multi-protocol instant messaging program that supports IRC. We recommend the following programs:
- Miranda IM (lightweight multi-protocol instant messenger, Windows only)
- Pidgin (multi-protocol instant messenger, Linux and Windows)
- Irssi (IRC only, terminal based. Linux, Mac, and Windows)
If you don't want to download an IRC client, or are unable download and/or install one, there is a web-based java applet you may use to connect to FreeNode Java client.
Typically, you'll connect to the server hosting our chats with a command like "/server irc.freenode.net". From there, to join our chatroom you will enter a command like "/join #dhackers".
You can find more information on connecting to IRC at IRCHelp.org.
